BIMOBI pronounced ‘bee moe bee’ - comes from the Chinese words and sounds for ‘pen’ ‘ink’ ‘pen’. Bi is Chinese for pen and Mo sounds like the word for ink making a translation of ‘pen - ink – pen’. BIMOBI is also appealing to the western-language world where the word ‘mobile’ is operative or ‘be mobile’. All of our solutions are ‘mobile’ and wireless featuring digital pen and paper – a very mobile or portable tool set – and many of our solutions make use of mobile data services.
BIMOBI solutions for digital pen and paper function within the Bluetooth mobile network and Bluetooth intra-network node environments as well as the USB for PC network.
In 2004 BIMOBI pioneered solutions utilizing Bluetooth nodes and is the original designer of the Digital Trading Card (DTC) Solution for real time commodities trading with digital pen and paper and Bluetooth nodes.
In addition the Founders of BIMOBI were the drivers for a key initiative featuring digital pen and paper in the Hong Kong-based commercial pilot by FedEx Asia Pacific announced in January of 2003.
Founders of BIMOBI have been working with digital pen and paper in Asia since early 2001 as part of the original team from Anoto AB in Sweden, innovators of digital pen and paper functionality.
